What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system that dates back to 2953 BC. It’s an understanding of the environment and its layout and how it may impact people’s lives.
It is about creating a living and working environment that is balanced and harmonious. Feng Shui in Chinese literally means “wind” and “water”. The wind represents the flow of energy, and the water represents the container or the receiver of the energy. This energy is also known as “chi”. Feng Shui practitioners claim that they can feel the positive energy (chi) and flow when their environment has been designed using Feng Shui principles. When the chi flows well and evenly in one’s environment, this can increase the chances for fortune and health, romance, careers etc.
You may get an intuitive bad feeling about a place but somehow cannot explain why. Or may notice some people who seem to be unlucky in particular areas of their life. Feng Shui proposes some answers as to why these situations occur. The aim of Feng Shui is provide solutions to improve the chi which can in turn improve your relationships, career, finance, health and happiness.
There 2 branches of Feng-shui
1. The Landform Classification (ti-li) branch - This involves studying the flow of energy all around, through mountains, valleys and rivers, roads, etc can affect a buildings and structures.
2. The Building Characteristics branch - This involves studying the flow of energy within a structure or building and the way it affects the occupants of that building.
